W.Y.S.I.W.Y.G. 2016–2021

@wysiwygbot was a Twitter bot (RIP), extending long-term project W.Y.S.I.W.Y.G (acronym for what you see is what you get), giving it new meanings every day. The project manifests as a GUI caret icon which is a light sculpture against checkered walls mimicking graphic transparency, transforming the vitrine into a virtual vacuum ad infinitum. Its first iteration, What You See is Where You Go, evolved into Wear Your Soul in Wordy Yesterday Gold, plunging deeper into asemia: on the flickering brink of “I,” we wade through the undertows of cyber sea, taking refuge in noise, awaiting meaning's delayed dawn. In its afterlife as a single-page web app, @wysiwygbot refreshes every 30 seconds, mirroring the thermodynamic entropy of semantic decay where meaning is liberated into possibility. Letters reorganize and iterate; @wysiwygbot becomes a Maxwell’s demon of language, sorting syntax not by certainty but by the flickering voltage of doubt. For InterAccess’s fundraiser, the unlimited digital editions are offered as mosaic shards of this flickering machine.
